Music & Worship Arts

Music and Worship Arts includes a wide array of ministries. Whether it is music or drama or sound and lighting, your gifts and talents have a place serving the Lord.

The gift of music is one that is given to few but enjoyed by many. If God has blessed you with the ability to sing or play, you'll be able to put that gift to good use at Utica United Methodist Church. If you don't quite have the gift yet, but you have the desire, we have an excellent musical staff that can lead you to become a musical disciple.

Our Vocal, Handbell and Instrumental Ensembles, as well as our Motion, and Drama groups of Utica United Methodist Church provide the congregation with meaningful music and presentations to enhance the worship of our Lord. As an integral part of Music and Worship Arts, Art and Tech Service ministries offer vital opportunities to serve.

Utica United Methodist Church has programs, staff and equipment for anyone and everyone, four years old and above.

Vocal Ensembles

  • Chancel Choir (Senior High - Adult)
The Chancel Choir performs a wide variety of musical styles, from classical to Gospel. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm. The Chancel Choir participates in the worship services three Sundays per month and presents two cantatas per year. They also sing for holiday services.

  • The Believers (Junior High - High School)

A vocal choir for our teens. The Believers rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 6:15pm. They present one Sunday per month in our worship services as well as one musical production every year.

  • Musical Disciples (2nd-6th grade)
The Musical Disciples is a vocal ensemble for our elementary aged children. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings following K.I.D.S. Club from 6:45 to 7:30pm. This ensemble presents monthly during our worship services and one musical every year.

  • Gosbells (Adult)

The Gosbells have produced a CD and provide music for worship on a regular basis.

Motion and Drama

  • Praise in Motion

With a unique blend of sign language and interpretive movement, the Praise In Motion ministry creates an emotive experience in communicating the word of God.

  • Drama

Open to all with a desire to communicate God's word through short spoken and pantomime sketches. Often presenting to enhance worship service, the Drama group also accompanies holiday choir and music presentations.
